Articles Needed: In My Dragon Empire

Work on Issue 12 is ready to begin, now that we've completed Issue 11. This issue is dedicated to a popular phrase in 13th Age social media discussions: "In My Dragon Empire" or IMDE for short. From the beginning, 13th Age has invited each table to make the default setting, the Dragon Empire, its own. Even books that offer more details about regions of the Dragon Empire present those details as often-conflicting rumors rather than canon. The setting is a skeleton awaiting the GM and players to flesh it out with details of their own.

Interested in submitting an article? Here are some suggestions that might spark your imagination.

• What calamity threatens to end the 13th Age?
• What happened to the Great White Wyrm?
• What makes the kin in your Dragon Empire different from their fantasy stereotypes?

Escalation Issue 11 is Available

I'm pleased to announce that Escalation Issue 11 is now available! You can find it on the Vault of the 13th Age. This issue's theme is the Orc Lord and all things orc. Who killed the Orc Lord? What happens to the Dragon Empire after the death of the Orc Lord? Can players create orc characters? These are questions that our community delves into.

This issue’s articles were created during the 13th Age 2E playtest phase, so you’ll notice some authors stuck with the familiar 1st Edition rules and assumptions about orcs while others were inspired by the 2E playtest drafts. We appreciate your patience with this transitionary issue and can’t wait to see what the full release of 2E inspires in the future.

We love to hear feedback, so let us know what you enjoy and would like to see more of in the future. What's missing that you'd like us to include next time? What didn't work so well, and we should consider omitting? This is the community's fanzine, and we want to make it as useful as possible for you.

Red Moon and Warring Kingdoms Available via PoD

Escalation is proud to announce that Red Moon and Warring Kingdoms is now available to order physical hardcover or softcover copies via print-on-demand. While Escalation is committed to offering fan creations free of charge, DriveThruRPG understandably needs to charge for printing, shipping, and handling. Thus, you'll be charged for the cost of the physical book, but Escalation isn't adding to that cost. Print-on-demand tends to be more expensive than an offset print run, so the price you see is simply the cost for the printed product.
